Hourly meeting room rental is the simplest workspace transaction there is. You need a room for ninety minutes, you pay for ninety minutes, you leave. No membership, no deposit, no five year lease for a board table you use twice a month.

This guide covers what an hour actually costs, how long you are obliged to book for, and ten buildings worth knowing about from Shoreditch to Sheffield. What does hourly meeting room rental cost in the UK?
The lowest hourly rate on the Wezoo UK list is £12.38. The highest single rate is £1,016.40 an hour, for a room that seats hundreds. Almost everything you will actually book sits between those two poles, and the number moves with three things: the city, the capacity, and whether the room comes with kit and refreshments or just four walls.
The obvious assumption is that London is the expensive one. It is not, at least not at the bottom of the range. The cheapest London room on our list starts at £16.50 an hour, below Manchester at £26.40 and well below Birmingham at £35.09. London has 156 buildings competing for the same booking, and that shows up in the entry price. Where London does run away is at the top: the big City boardrooms carry the highest rates in the country.
What shifts the price inside one building is capacity. At Shoreditch Exchange a two person room starts at £26.40 an hour and the thirty seat room reaches £201.96. Same address, same Wi-Fi, same coffee. You are paying for chairs. If you want the full breakdown of what sits behind a rate, we took it apart in how much a meeting room costs in the UK.
How long do you actually have to book for?
This is the question that catches people out, and it is the one most hourly meeting room rental listings never answer. An hour is the unit. It is also the commitment. Of the 1,939 UK meeting rooms Wezoo lists, 1,674 have a sixty minute minimum booking, so the hour is genuinely the smallest slice you can buy in most of the country.

Minimum booking length for hourly meeting room rental across the 1,939 UK rooms listed on Wezoo, 13 October 2026
Above the hour, 215 rooms insist on a two hour minimum and 18 want four hours. Those are overwhelmingly the larger boardrooms and training spaces, where the operator has to reset the room between bookings. Below the hour there are 31 rooms, 29 of them at thirty minutes and two at fifteen. Huckletree Ancoats in Manchester holds some of the shortest windows on the list, which makes it a sensible pick for back to back interviews.
Hybrid work is why any of this matters. The ONS found that 28% of workers in Great Britain were hybrid working between September 2022 and January 2023, splitting the week between home and a workplace (ONS, Characteristics of homeworkers). A team that is apart four days a week still has to be together on the fifth, and it needs two hours of a room, not twelve months of one.

Where can you book hourly meeting room rental outside London?
London holds 156 of the 526 buildings, and it dominates every meeting room list on the internet. It is also not where most UK businesses are. The ONS counted 2.79 million VAT or PAYE registered businesses in the UK in March 2026 (ONS, UK business: activity, size and location), and they are spread across the whole country. So is the supply. Here is where the rooms are.

Edinburgh carries the lowest entry rate in the country at £12.38 an hour, and Sheffield is not far behind at £15.84. Reading is the outlier in the other direction: seven buildings, a £51.58 floor, and a Thames Valley client base that is used to paying it.
When is an hourly room the wrong call?
Three hours is usually the hinge. Hourly meeting room rental suits a pitch, a board meeting, an interview round, a workshop or a client review. Once you are past half a day and the group wants to break out, eat, and come back, a day office is the cleaner answer and often the cheaper one, which is why we wrote a separate guide to day offices in the UK.
And if you are still working out which product fits your week rather than your afternoon, the complete guide to flexible workspace in the UK sets meeting rooms, day offices, hot desks and private offices side by side. For a proximity first shortlist, meeting room hire near me starts from where you are standing instead of from the map.
Book for the meeting, pay for the meeting. That is the whole case for hourly meeting room rental, and it is the reason a two hour booking beats a room you keep all year and use on Tuesdays.

Hourly meeting room rental FAQ
How much is hourly meeting room rental in the UK?
Hourly meeting room rental on Wezoo runs from £12.38 to £1,016.40 per hour across 526 UK buildings. A small room for two to six people typically starts in the £15 to £35 band outside London, and the rate climbs with capacity and kit. Every rate shown at booking includes tax.
Can I book a meeting room for less than an hour?
Sometimes. Of the 1,939 UK meeting rooms Wezoo lists, 31 accept a booking shorter than sixty minutes: 29 at thirty minutes and two at fifteen. Huckletree Ancoats in Manchester is one of them. Everywhere else, sixty minutes is the floor.
Do I need a membership for hourly meeting room rental?
No. Wezoo is a booking platform, not a club. You pick a room, pick a time, pay for that time and turn up. There is no subscription, no joining fee and no minimum spend.
What is normally included in the hourly rate?
Wi-Fi is standard. Most rooms add a wall display or screen, and many include a whiteboard or flip chart and tea, coffee and water. Video conferencing kit is listed per room rather than per building, so check the individual room. Catering is usually a separate arrangement with notice.
How far ahead should I book?
For a small room on a weekday morning, the same day is usually fine in the larger cities. For anything above twelve seats, or for a Friday, give it a few days. Rooms with a two or four hour minimum are the first to be taken because they tend to be the big ones.
Which UK city has the cheapest meeting rooms by the hour?
On the current Wezoo list, Edinburgh has the lowest entry rate at £12.38 an hour, followed by Sheffield at £15.84 and London at £16.50. Those are floors, not averages, and they belong to specific rooms in specific buildings rather than to the city as a whole.
