A virtual office Shoreditch address is the only London business address that cannot be found by postcode. Search the register for it and you will not find a code that says Shoreditch, because there isn’t one — the neighbourhood sits on the corner where three postal areas meet, and it borrows a district from each of them. If you want the mechanics of the product itself first, start with our complete guide to virtual offices, then come back here for the postcodes.
This guide maps all 15 virtual office Shoreditch addresses listed on Wezoo, ranked by the walk from Shoreditch High Street station, with the postcode of each one disclosed. It answers the question that trips up every first-time buyer here: which of EC2A, E1, E2 and N1 is actually Shoreditch, and does the difference show up anywhere that matters.
Shoreditch does not have a postcode. It has four, and it shares every one of them.

Virtual Office Shoreditch: What You Actually Get
A virtual office Shoreditch plan buys you two things as standard: a street address you can put on your website, your invoices and your Companies House filing, and someone at that address to take delivery of your post. Everything after that is priced separately. If the product itself is new to you, our explainer on what a virtual office address is covers the mechanics.
The standard shape of the product, across every provider in this market:
- Included in the base plan: a business address, mail receipt, and notification when something arrives.
- Usually an add-on: registered-office use for Companies House, mail forwarding, mail scanning, a local phone number, call answering.
- Always a separate booking: a meeting room, a desk for the day, a private office.
That last line is where most virtual office Shoreditch buyers get surprised.
The address is the cheapest thing in the building, and it is designed that way. What the provider actually wants is for you to come inside. In Shoreditch that pull is unusually strong, and the data shows exactly how — but we need the postcodes first.
Virtual Office Shoreditch: Four Postcodes, One Neighbourhood
Ask a London agent for a Shoreditch address and you will be shown buildings in EC2A, E1, E2 and N1. All four are correct. All four are also wrong, because not one of them is contained by Shoreditch — every one of them starts here and runs somewhere else entirely.
Take the four districts and measure how far each one reaches from Shoreditch High Street station, using every virtual office address Wezoo lists inside them:
| District | Wezoo VO addresses | Nearest to Shoreditch High St | Furthest | Where the far end actually is |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| EC2A | 9 | 212 m | 720 m | Still Shoreditch / Old Street |
| E1 | 5 | 190 m | 943 m | Whitechapel High Street |
| E2 | 1 | 762 m | 762 m | Hackney Road |
| N1 | 6 | 582 m | 3,444 m | King’s Cross, Angel, Highbury & Islington |
N1 is the one that breaks. It is not a neighbourhood — it is a ray.
One address in N1 is Rufus House, 582 metres from Shoreditch High Street, unambiguously in Shoreditch. Another is Kings Place on York Way, 3,444 metres away, which is King’s Cross by any measure a Londoner would accept. A third sits on Upper Street in Highbury. The district spans nearly three kilometres and covers three separate neighbourhoods, and the register cannot tell them apart. Filter for “N1” expecting Shoreditch and 5 of the 6 addresses you get back are somewhere else.
Now run it the other way. Ignore postcodes entirely, draw an 800-metre circle around Shoreditch High Street station, and see which districts fall inside it:
- E1, E2, EC1V, EC2A, EC2M and N1 — six postcode districts
- Across three postal areas: E (East London), EC (Eastern Central) and N (North London)
Three postal areas inside one ten-minute walk. That is the whole story of a virtual office Shoreditch address.
Soho sits inside W1. The insurance district sits inside EC3. Canary Wharf sits inside E14. Those places are the centre of their district. Shoreditch is not the centre of anything — it is the seam, the point where the East, the City and the North of London are stitched together, and the postal system drew its lines straight through the middle of it. In the City you buy a district. In Soho you buy a street. In Shoreditch you buy a corner.
EC2A 2 Is Liverpool Street. EC2A 3 Is Shoreditch. EC2A 4 Is Old Street.
Here is the part nobody tells you, and it is the single most useful thing on this page.
EC2A is the district that most Shoreditch addresses sit in — 9 of the 15 on Wezoo. It is also shared with two other neighbourhoods, and the sector digit (the number immediately after the space) tells you which one you are actually in. We took all nine EC2A virtual office addresses and measured each to its nearest mainline station. The result is clean:
| Postcode | Building | Nearest station | Distance |
|---|---|---|---|
| EC2A 2JN | Huckletree, 1 Primrose Street | Liverpool Street | 317 m |
| EC2A 2AP | Mindspace, 9 Appold Street | Liverpool Street | 406 m |
| EC2A 2BN | Knotel, 1 Finsbury Market | Liverpool Street | 430 m |
| EC2A 3EJ | Fora, 21–33 Great Eastern Street | Shoreditch High Street | 212 m |
| EC2A 3AY | Fora, 81 Rivington Street | Shoreditch High Street | 394 m |
| EC2A 3AY | Fora, The Black & White Building | Shoreditch High Street | 394 m |
| EC2A 4NJ | Runway East, 52 Tabernacle Street | Old Street | 246 m |
| EC2A 4LW | Knotel, 2 Leonard Circus | Old Street | 289 m |
| EC2A 4EG | WeWork, 1 Mark Square | Old Street | 393 m |
Nine addresses. Nine correct predictions from one digit.
EC2A 2 is Liverpool Street. EC2A 3 is Shoreditch. EC2A 4 is Old Street. One district, three neighbourhoods, one digit apart. If you are choosing between two EC2A buildings and you assume the district makes them interchangeable, you are choosing between three different parts of London without knowing it. Read the digit, then read the map.
Virtual Office Shoreditch vs Old Street: The Practical Difference
This is the question we get most, and the honest answer is uncomfortable: there isn’t a border. Old Street and Shoreditch are not two places that meet at a line. They are two names pulling at opposite ends of the same postcode district, and the buildings in the middle belong to whichever one you say out loud.
The proof sits in our own data. The single Wezoo listing that Google already ranks for “virtual office shoreditch” is called Shoreditch. Its postcode is EC1Y 1AA — a district that appears nowhere in anyone’s list of Shoreditch postcodes. And it is 811 metres from Shoreditch High Street station and 301 metres from Old Street station. The name says Shoreditch. The register says EC1Y. The map says Old Street. All three are telling the truth.
It happens in reverse too. One building on Appold Street is listed as Liverpool Street, carries an EC2A 2 postcode, and its own web address ends in mindspace-shoreditch. Same building, three neighbourhoods, depending on who is doing the naming.
So what actually separates them? Not geography. What the buildings sell.
| What the building offers | Shoreditch (15 addresses) | London (283 addresses) |
|---|---|---|
| Private-office desks by the month | 15 / 15 — 100% | 100% |
| Meeting rooms by the hour | 5 / 15 — 33% | 58% |
| Hot desks by the day | 3 / 15 — 20% | 41% |
| Day offices | 0 / 15 — 0% | 36% |
Zero day offices. Not one, in fifteen buildings.
That is not an accident, and it is the real difference between this neighbourhood and, say, Mayfair. Shoreditch is campus territory — Fora, Knotel, WeWork, Huckletree, Mindspace, Runway East. These operators sell floors and memberships, not hours. They will happily give you a desk for a year. They are far less interested in giving you a boardroom for ninety minutes. It is precisely the profile we found one postcode over at an Old Street virtual office address, where only 5 of 17 buildings rented a room by the hour — because Old Street and Shoreditch are, functionally, one market with two brand names.
Compare that with the West End, where the pattern inverts: at a Soho business address almost every building will sell you an hour in a meeting room, and the boardroom hour is the product. Soho rents you the meeting. Shoreditch rents you the move-in.
The practical rule for a virtual office Shoreditch buyer: if you need to host clients at your address, check before you sign that the address actually has a room. Two out of three here do not.
Can an EC2A or E1 Address Be Your Registered Office?
Yes — provided the address is staffed. Since 4 March 2024 that has been a legal test, not a preference.
Under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023, a UK company’s registered office must be an appropriate address. Companies House defines that in two parts: a document delivered there must be expected to come to the attention of a person acting on behalf of the company, and the delivery must be capable of being recorded by an acknowledgement of receipt. Both conditions are about a person, not a building.
The consequence is straightforward. PO boxes no longer qualify. A staffed third-party address — which is exactly what every building on this page is — does qualify, and can be used as your registered office and as the address on your Companies House filings.
A registered office is not an address. It is an address, plus a person, plus a window of time in which that person is there to sign for your post.
That window is worth checking. Where Shoreditch buildings publish their opening hours, they are open Monday to Friday only — nobody in this dataset takes delivery at the weekend. If a document with a legal deadline lands on a Saturday, it is not being acknowledged until Monday. Our guide to choosing a registered office address in London goes through the filing side in detail.
One more thing the register does that people forget: Companies House publishes your registered office to the world, for free, forever. Every filing carries it. Which is why the postcode question above is not pedantry — it is the one line of your address that strangers will read.
Virtual Office Shoreditch Cost: What the Plans Actually Include
Published plans for a Shoreditch business address run from roughly £19.88 to £75 per month (provider pricing pages, checked July 2026). That is a near four-fold spread for what looks like an identical product, and the spread is not really about the address.
It is about which rungs are bundled and which are billed. The advertised plan is the floor, not the bill. Across this market, the ladder usually runs:
- The address — the headline price, often quoted as an annual-payment rate.
- Registered-office use — frequently a separate monthly add-on.
- Mail forwarding or scanning — another add-on, sometimes plus postage at cost.
- Identity checks — a one-off anti-money-laundering setup fee is common.
- Call answering — a further monthly line.
- The room, the desk, the office — booked and paid for separately, every time.
Read the add-on list before the headline price. That is where a virtual office Shoreditch quote is actually decided.
Wezoo does not publish a price for the address itself — virtual offices are quoted by the operator on request, which is why the button on every listing below asks rather than books. What we can show you, because it is published, is what the same building charges the moment you walk through the door:
| Product in the same building | Shoreditch range | Shoreditch median | London median |
|---|---|---|---|
| Meeting room, per hour | £24.00 – £78.46 | £63.60 | £60.00 |
| Hot desk, per day | £36.00 – £78.00 | £42.00 | £54.00 |
| Private-office desk, per month | £314 – £795 | £567 | £540 |
Shoreditch prices the hour like the rest of London and the desk slightly above it.
The interesting number is the last one. A desk in Shoreditch costs £567 a month at the median, against £540 across all 283 London virtual-office buildings — a 5% premium, which is nothing. But the range inside the neighbourhood is £314 to £795, a gap of £481 per desk per month. For a three-person team that is £17,300 a year, between two buildings you could walk between in six minutes, on the same four postcodes, with the same line on the same public register. The neighbourhood does not set your bill. The door does.
The 15 Virtual Office Shoreditch Addresses, Ranked by Walk
Ranked by straight-line distance from Shoreditch High Street station. Postcode shown for every one, because as established, you cannot trust it to tell you where you are.
1. Montacute Yards — 190 m — E1 6HU

The closest virtual office Shoreditch address on the platform, and the one that most looks the part — a converted yard directly on Shoreditch High Street, three minutes from the Overground. Two private-office suites, 14 and 22 desks, from £792 per desk per month. No hourly meeting room here, so plan client meetings elsewhere.

2. Great Eastern Street — 212 m — EC2A 3EJ

A textbook EC2A 3 address: the sector digit says Shoreditch and the 212-metre walk agrees. Fourteen private-office suites in sizes from 4 to 9 desks — the deepest small-team ladder in the neighbourhood — from £628 per desk per month. If your company will be four people this year and nine next year, you can grow without changing your letterhead.

3. Folgate Street — 288 m — E1 6BX

Georgian Spitalfields, on the E1 side of the seam, five minutes from Liverpool Street. This is the big-floor end of the market — suites of 16, 28 and 87 desks, from £567 per desk. An E1 address here reads as Spitalfields rather than Shoreditch to anyone who knows the streets, which some companies want and some do not.

4. The Black & White Building — 394 m — EC2A 3AY

The engineered-timber tower on Rivington Street — the most recognisable new building in Shoreditch and, for a creative-sector company, an address that does a lot of work in one line. Rivington Street is EC2A 3: Shoreditch proper, 394 metres from the station, deep inside the street-art blocks.

5. 81 Rivington Street — 394 m — EC2A 3AY

Same street, same postcode, different building — and the smallest suites on the list: 2 and 4 desks, from £538 per desk per month. This is the address for a founding team of two who want the Rivington Street line on the register from day one.
Request 81 Rivington Street on Wezoo →
6. Huckletree, 1 Primrose Street — 435 m — EC2A 2JN

An EC2A 2 address — which, per the rule above, means this is really Liverpool Street: 317 metres to the mainline concourse, 435 to Shoreditch High Street. It is one of only five buildings here that rents a room by the hour, and the cheapest of them at £24.00/hour. Hot desks £42.00/day, private-office desks from £650/month across six suites.
7. Mindspace, 9 Appold Street — 479 m — EC2A 2AP

The building that proves the whole point of this article. It is listed as Liverpool Street, its own web address says Shoreditch, and its postcode is EC2A 2 — which, by the sector rule, sides with Liverpool Street at 406 metres. It also has the second-dearest meeting room on the list at £72.00/hour. Whatever you call it, it is 479 metres from Shoreditch High Street.
8. 1 Mark Square — 493 m — EC2A 4EG

EC2A 4 — the Old Street end, 393 metres from that station and 493 from Shoreditch High Street. It carries the cheapest private-office desk in the neighbourhood at £314 per month, across thirteen suites from 2 to 9 desks. That is 60% below the £795 at the top of this list, for an address on the same four postcodes.

9. Runway East Shoreditch, 52 Tabernacle Street — 720 m — EC2A 4NJ

Named Shoreditch, postcoded EC2A 4, and 246 metres from Old Street station against 720 from Shoreditch High Street. The name and the map disagree, and both are defensible. It rents a meeting room at £63.60/hour and a private-office desk at £795/month — the highest desk rate on this page.

10. Epworth House — 811 m — EC1Y 1AA

The outlier, and the most instructive address on the list: called Shoreditch, registered EC1Y — a district in nobody’s Shoreditch postcode list — and 811 metres from Shoreditch High Street. It is also the most complete building here: 53 private-office suites starting at a single desk, from £395/month, a meeting room at £78.46/hour and a hot desk at £78.00/day. If you want a Shoreditch-branded address and the option of one desk rather than a floor, this is the door.

What Does an E1 or EC2A Address Actually Signal?
An address is a sentence you make other people read. In the City, the postcode carries it — anyone in insurance knows what EC3 means, and a company at a Liverpool Street virtual office in EC2M is telling you it wants to be read as finance. That is a district doing the talking.
Shoreditch cannot do that, because no district here belongs to it. So the work falls to the street name and the building. Rivington Street, Great Eastern Street, Tabernacle Street, Old Street — these are the words that mean something to a client in the creative and tech sectors, an industry that the government measures in the tens of billions and which has been concentrated in these blocks for two decades.
What it signals, plainly: we are a startup or a creative business, we are young, and we are not pretending to be a bank. That reads as credibility to a venture investor and to a design client. It reads as a risk to a conservative insurer or a private-client law firm, who would rather see EC2M or W1K.
Neither is better. They are aimed at different readers. The mistake is choosing an address for a reader you do not have.
And the practical version of that, for a virtual office Shoreditch buyer: if the audience you care about is impressed by Shoreditch, they will read the street, not the postcode — which means EC1Y at Epworth House and N1 at Rufus House do the job perfectly well, and an N1 in Highbury does not do it at all.

Virtual Office Shoreditch: Frequently Asked Questions
Which postcode is a virtual office Shoreditch address in?
There is no single Shoreditch postcode. The 15 addresses on Wezoo sit across EC2A (9), E1 (3), E2 (1), N1 (1) and EC1Y (1). Within EC2A, the sector digit is the reliable guide: EC2A 2 is Liverpool Street, EC2A 3 is Shoreditch, EC2A 4 is Old Street.
Can I use a virtual office Shoreditch address as my registered office?
Yes, as long as it is staffed. Since 4 March 2024, Companies House requires a registered office to be an “appropriate address” — one where post reliably reaches someone acting for the company and where receipt can be acknowledged. Every staffed address on this page meets that test; PO boxes no longer do.
How much does a virtual office in Shoreditch cost?
Published provider plans run from roughly £19.88 to £75 per month (provider pricing pages, July 2026). Check what the plan excludes — registered-office use, mail forwarding, AML setup and call answering are commonly billed on top. Wezoo lists Shoreditch addresses on request rather than at a fixed price.
What is the difference between a virtual office Shoreditch and Old Street address?
Very little, and often nothing. They share the EC2A district and behave identically: campus operators selling desks by the month, with only a third of buildings renting meeting rooms by the hour and none offering day offices. The difference is which station you are nearer, and what you tell people.
Can I book a meeting room at my virtual office Shoreditch address?
Only at 5 of the 15 buildings — 33%, against 58% across London. Rooms run from £24.00 to £78.46 per hour. If client meetings at your own address matter to you, confirm the building has a room before you commit to the address.
