Meeting room hire Whitechapel has one exact answer on Wezoo, and five near ones. One building with a Whitechapel Road address lists bookable meeting rooms: Runway East’s Aldgate East, at 2 Whitechapel Road, E1 1EW — the western end of the road, 0.65 km from the station. Five more sit between 1.06 km and 3.20 km from that station in a straight line: four elsewhere in Tower Hamlets, one over the borough line in the City of London. This guide prices every room in all six. For the product in general, see our guide to booking meeting rooms.
Whitechapel sits on the eastern edge of the City, one stop from Liverpool Street and two from Canary Wharf on the Elizabeth line. That is why the six buildings below spread in every direction from Whitechapel Road: two west towards Aldgate and Tower Hill, one south into Wapping, and two east in Canary Wharf. Every rate is a Wezoo hourly price with tax included, and every room is bookable without a membership or a subscription. If you are weighing longer commitments as well, our flexible workspace guide sets hourly rooms against day offices and private suites.

What does a meeting room near Whitechapel cost?
Between £52.80 and £143.00 per hour with tax included, across the 31 rooms in these six buildings. The median room costs £84.06. The lowest listed rate belongs to two eight-person rooms at Tobacco Dock; the highest is the 50-person room at societyM Tower of London.
Listings lead with a “from” price, and that figure is the building’s cheapest room, which is rarely the room you came for. Those six headline rates run from £52.80 to £83.95, a gap of £31.15 an hour, or £62.30 on a two-hour booking. It is a fair starting point and a poor shortlist: at one building here the real eight-person rate is 74 % above the headline, while at another the headline is the price of every room in the place.
For the same exercise on the other side of central London, our guide to meeting room hire Fitzrovia prices 26 rooms across six W1 buildings. Its lowest rate is the same £52.80 an hour as Whitechapel’s; its highest is £393.36.
Does a bigger room cost more?
Usually. Then one building breaks the rule so completely that it rearranges this shortlist. Leonardo Royal London Tower Bridge charges £68.75 an hour for all six of its rooms — the 12-seater, the 70-seater and each of its four 120-seat rooms, at one identical price. Capacity costs nothing there. Per person that works out at £5.73 an hour in the small room and 57p in the large one.
Of the 12 rooms in the other five buildings that seat ten or more people, the lowest listed rate is £77.00. So each of Leonardo’s four 120-seat rooms is listed below every room seating ten or more anywhere else in this set, and below 20 of the 31 rooms here in total. A room for 120 people costs less per hour than six of the eight rooms that seat eight.
Each of the other five charges more for its larger rooms — by a factor of 1.37 to 2.00 from its lowest-rated room to its highest. Flat pricing belongs to Leonardo Royal alone.
The same eight-person meeting, at four different prices
Eight seats is the size most of these buildings share: eight rooms across four of the six hold exactly eight people. They run from £52.80 to £105.60 an hour — exactly double, for the same headcount, inside 3.3 km of Whitechapel station. Those eight rooms sit in four buildings at four prices.

Meeting room hire Whitechapel: the six buildings Wezoo lists, by distance from the station
Distances below are straight-line from Whitechapel station. Rates are per room, per hour, tax included.
1. Aldgate East by Runway East — the only Whitechapel Road address with bookable meeting rooms on Wezoo (0.65 km)

This is the closest thing to a Whitechapel address in the set. Runway East lists five rooms at 2 Whitechapel Road, E1 1EW: a four-seater and a six-seater at £60.72 an hour, and three eight-seaters at £105.60. All five list a large display, a whiteboard and wifi. It is the only building of the six with lockers, and it keeps phone booths and a staffed reception alongside the lounge.
Read those two prices carefully, because the “from £60.72” on the listing buys the four-seat or the six-seat room. Eight people costs 74 % more. No room at Aldgate East holds more than eight, so this is a building for client meetings and working sessions. Aldgate East station is on the doorstep. For the same building approached from the City side, alongside the cluster around St Mary Axe and Bishopsgate, read our guide to meeting rooms in Aldgate.
2. Leonardo Royal London Tower Bridge by Leonardo Hotels — one price for every room, from 12 people to 120 (1.06 km)

Leonardo Hotels lists six rooms at 5 Prescot Street, E1 8GP — one for 12, one for 70 and four for 120 — and every one is £68.75 an hour. A room for a whole company therefore costs less per hour here than the eight-person room at three of the other five buildings. One caveat is worth knowing before you book: the rooms list natural light and wifi and nothing else. This is the only building of the six with no display screen and no whiteboard listed in any room, so ask the hotel what it can bring in.
Downstairs it is a hotel, with a bar, a restaurant, climate control and step-free access, which suits a conference, a training day, an AGM or an offsite that wants somewhere to go afterwards. The Prescot Street corner of E1 puts it a few minutes from Aldgate.

3. Tobacco Dock — a converted warehouse with coffee, tea and water in the room (1.24 km)

The warehouse in Wapping splits its four rooms cleanly in two. At Tobacco Quay, E1W 2SF you get either eight people at £52.80 an hour, the lowest listed rate anywhere in this set, or 20 and 24 people at £105.60. There is nothing in between. Every room lists a large display and wifi, three add a whiteboard, and the two larger ones have natural light.
It is also the only building of the six that includes coffee, tea and water in the room itself, with catering, a coffee bar, a lounge, phone booths, bike storage and a staffed reception downstairs. Book it for a workshop or a team day that needs a room and somewhere to spill out of it. Wapping sits south of Whitechapel, towards the river.
4. societyM Tower of London by CitizenM — seven rooms in four sizes, from 10 people to 50 (1.55 km)

CitizenM lists more rooms here than any other building in this guide: seven, at 40 Trinity Square, EC3N 4DJ, in four sizes — matching Canary Wharf Cabot Square for the widest choice of sizes in the set. They run two for ten at £77.00, two for 12 at £88.01, two for 16 at £104.51 and one for 50 at £143.00 — the largest single space here outside Leonardo Royal. All seven list a large display and wifi, and six of the seven add a whiteboard. The hotel runs a bar, a restaurant, catering and a coffee bar around them.
Four sizes and seven rooms make this the easiest building here to match to an exact headcount, and the easiest to feed while you are in it.
Two things to know before you book. The EC3N postcode puts this building in the City of London, on the far side of the borough line from the other five, though it is still 1.55 km from Whitechapel station by Tower Hill. And it is the one building of the six that does not list step-free access, so check with the hotel if that matters.

5. Canary Wharf Cabot Square by Spaces — video conferencing in every room (2.96 km)

Spaces lists five rooms at 25 Cabot Square, E14 4QZ: two eight-seaters at £83.95, a 12 at £93.64, a 14 at £98.46 and a 21 at £115.39. This is one of only two buildings in the set whose rooms list video-conference equipment, and here it is in all five, with flip charts, large displays, whiteboards and wifi. The 21-seat room also has natural light.
Catering, breakout spaces, bike storage and a restaurant come with the building. At 2.96 km it is the second-furthest option here, though the distance overstates the journey: the Elizabeth line runs from Whitechapel to Canary Wharf without a change. Book it for a meeting that is half in the room and half on a screen.

6. Canary Wharf 1 Canada Square by Signature — small rooms on the 37th floor (3.20 km)

Signature lists four rooms on the 37th floor of 1 Canada Square, E14 5AA: a four-seater at £67.91, two six-seaters at £84.06 and an eight-seater at £100.22. Every room here lists video-conference equipment as well, with flip charts, large displays, whiteboards and wifi. Catering, a coffee bar and a restaurant sit downstairs.
That £67.91 four-seater is the third-lowest entry rate of the six buildings, which makes this a reasonable choice for a small meeting that wants a high floor more than a short walk. At 3.20 km it is the furthest of the six, one Elizabeth line ride from Whitechapel.

How do you choose between six very different buildings?
Start with the headcount, because it eliminates more options than budget does. For up to six people, only two buildings list a room that size: Aldgate East at 0.65 km and 1 Canada Square at 3.20 km. Anywhere else you book a larger room and pay its rate. At exactly eight, four buildings have a room, at four different prices — Tobacco Dock £52.80, Cabot Square £83.95, 1 Canada Square £100.22 and Aldgate East £105.60. From ten to 24, Leonardo Royal, societyM, Tobacco Dock and Cabot Square all have something. From 25 to 70 it is societyM’s 50-seat room or Leonardo’s 70-seater. Above 70, Leonardo Royal is the only option in this guide.
Then look at what is in the room. Only two of the six buildings list video-conference equipment, and both are in Canary Wharf, the two furthest from Whitechapel. If half your attendees are dialling in, that narrows six buildings to two before you look at a single price. Displays and whiteboards deserve the same check: five of the six list a whiteboard in at least one room, and Leonardo Royal lists neither a whiteboard nor a display anywhere.
Food and access are easier than you might expect. Every one of the six lists a bar, a restaurant or catering on site, so an agenda that runs through lunch is no obstacle anywhere here, though only Leonardo Royal and societyM have a bar. Five of the six list step-free access, societyM being the exception, and five have breakout space outside the room, the exception there being Leonardo Royal.
How far ahead should you book a meeting room near Whitechapel?
For eight people or fewer, a few days is usually enough — 13 of the 31 rooms here seat eight or under, spread across four buildings, so one booking rarely closes off your options. Size is what narrows the field. Only six rooms across two buildings hold more than 24 people, so for a session that big it is worth fixing a date weeks out. Check the building page for open slots before you promise one to a client.
Getting to a meeting room from Whitechapel
Whitechapel station is an interchange. TfL lists it as an Elizabeth line stop and as an Underground station on the District and Hammersmith & City lines, and the London Overground calls there too. Those connections are why a building 3.2 km away in Canary Wharf earns a place on this list.
Other ways to use Whitechapel space
Wezoo lists other kinds of space in and around Whitechapel too. If you want a desk by the day instead of a room by the hour, read our coworking space Whitechapel guide. If you want a permanent base, the private-office market in E1 is a different set of buildings again, priced by the month.

Meeting room hire Whitechapel FAQs
Is there a meeting room in Whitechapel itself?
Yes — one. Runway East’s Aldgate East, at 2 Whitechapel Road, E1 1EW, 0.65 km from Whitechapel station, lists five bookable rooms on Wezoo. They top out at eight people, so anything larger means moving off Whitechapel Road.
How much does a meeting room near Whitechapel cost per hour?
Across the 31 rooms in the six buildings Wezoo lists within 3.3 km of Whitechapel station, rates run from £52.80 to £143.00 an hour with tax included, and the median room costs £84.06. A listing’s “from” price is that building’s cheapest room, so a larger room in the same building usually costs more.
Are the rates per room or per person?
Per room, per hour, with tax included. Booking a 12-person room for two people costs the same as booking it for 12, which is why the room you pick matters more than the number of people you bring.
What does the seating figure mean?
It is the maximum occupancy the operator lists for that room. It is a ceiling, not a seating plan: a room listed for 24 people will take fewer around a boardroom table than in rows, so check the layout with the operator if your number is close to the maximum.
Can I book a meeting room at 133 Whitechapel High Street?
Not on Wezoo. Whitechapel High Street is the western continuation of Whitechapel Road, and 133 Whitechapel High Street, the Fora building, is listed on Wezoo for private offices instead of rooms by the hour. If a monthly private suite in E1 is what you need, our office space Whitechapel guide covers it.
Which meeting rooms near Whitechapel have video-conference equipment?
Two of the six buildings list it, and in both it appears in every room: Canary Wharf Cabot Square by Spaces, and Canary Wharf 1 Canada Square by Signature. Both are one Elizabeth line ride from Whitechapel.
Do I need a membership to book a meeting room near Whitechapel?
No. Every room in this guide is bookable on Wezoo by the hour, with no membership and no subscription. You book the hours you need and pay for those hours.
The short version
One building on Whitechapel Road, five more within 3.3 km of the station, and a price ladder that only makes sense once you look past the headline rate. Match the room to the people first, then look at what it costs. Of the 31 rooms Wezoo lists here, the four largest cost less per hour than 20 of the other 27.
