Setting up an LLC and stuck on the address line? A virtual business address for LLC paperwork gives you a real US street address for your filings, your mail and your Google listing — without publishing your home address to the entire internet. It is the single cheapest fix for the most exposed field on your formation documents.

This guide covers what a virtual business address for LLC use actually does, the one job it does not do (and that trips up thousands of founders a year), what it costs, how to set one up, and four real US addresses you can put behind your company today. If you want the wider product overview first, start with our complete guide to virtual office services.

Wezoo snapshot — US virtual office addresses (July 2026)

  • 1,785 virtual office addresses listed across 791 US cities
  • 1,770 of 1,785 (99%) publish a building-services list
  • Most common building services: catering (96%), breakout spaces (77%), parking nearby (44%)
  • A staffed reception desk is listed at only 23 addresses (1.3%)
  • Largest operators: Regus (1,205), HQ (335), Spaces (169)

What is a virtual business address for LLC owners?

A virtual business address for LLC owners is a commercial street address, hosted inside a real office building, that your company is licensed to use as its mailing and public-facing address. Mail sent there is received by the operator and either forwarded, scanned or held for pickup. You do not rent a desk. You rent standing.

That distinction matters more than founders expect. Your LLC’s address appears on state filings, on your bank application, on invoices, on your website footer and in every public records database that scrapes them. A business address that resolves to a downtown office building reads as a company. One that resolves to an apartment reads as a side project — and one that resolves to a PO box gets rejected outright by most Secretaries of State.

A PO box gets your mail. A street address gets your LLC approved.

Can a virtual business address for LLC filings replace a registered agent?

No. This is the most expensive misunderstanding in the category, so it is worth being blunt about it.

A registered agent is a person or entity, physically present in your state of formation, who agrees to accept service of process — lawsuits, subpoenas, tax notices — in person during business hours. A virtual business address is a place your mail lands. An address is where your LLC receives mail. A registered agent is who signs for it. The two overlap, but they are not the same purchase, and the state will not treat them as interchangeable.

Our own inventory shows why the confusion is so easy to fall into. Of the 1,785 US virtual office addresses on Wezoo, only 23 — one in seventy-seven — publish a staffed reception desk. The address is real; the receptionist is rare. If you need a human physically at the door to take a certified envelope, that is a specific, purchasable service, and you should read our guide to the virtual office with live receptionist before you assume it comes bundled.

What you need What it does Can a virtual address do it?
Principal business address Public address on your filings, bank forms and website Yes — this is exactly what it is for
Mailing address Receives, scans or forwards business mail Yes, with a signed USPS Form 1583
Registered agent Accepts service of process in person, in-state, in business hours No — appoint an agent separately
PO box Mail only, no street address Not accepted for LLC registration in most states

Treat them as two line items on the same setup checklist and you will not get a filing bounced. The SBA’s business registration guide spells out the state-by-state requirements, and the IRS LLC guidance covers what the federal side expects.

What does a virtual business address for LLC use cost in 2026?

Wezoo lists virtual office addresses without a public price, because pricing is set per address by the operator and usually depends on how much mail handling you want. What we can tell you is what the US market charges, from published provider plans observed in July 2026.

  • Mail-only plans: roughly $9–$30 per month. Address plus mail receipt, scanning extra.
  • Address plus mail forwarding: roughly $30–$60 per month, plus postage.
  • Address plus building access (day passes, meeting rooms): roughly $60–$150 per month.
  • Registered agent service: a separate $50–$300 per year, billed by the agent, not the address.

Two costs never appear on the plan page. Notarisation of your USPS Form 1583 (typically $5–$25, or free at many banks), and the cost of changing your address later on every filing, licence, bank account and payment processor you have already registered. That second one is the reason to pick the address before you file, not after.

How to get a virtual business address for LLC registration

Five steps, and the whole thing is usually done inside a week. The slow part is the notary, not the provider.

Step 1 — Pick the state before you pick the street

Your address should sit in the state where the LLC is formed, or where it is registered as a foreign LLC. An address in a state you have no filing in creates a mismatch that banks and payment processors will question.

Step 2 — Choose a real street address, not a mailbox number

Most states reject a PO box as a principal address. A commercial building address inside a staffed office is accepted everywhere, and it also passes the address-verification checks that Stripe, Mercury and most business banks run.

Step 3 — File USPS Form 1583

Federal law requires written, notarised consent before anyone may receive mail on your behalf. The operator will hand you the form; you sign it in front of a notary with two forms of ID. The USPS sets out the rules for agents that receive mail on a business’s behalf in its commercial mail receiving agency guidance.

Step 4 — Appoint your registered agent separately

Same week, different purchase. Many founders use a commercial agent in the formation state and keep the virtual address for everything public-facing.

Step 5 — Use the address everywhere, from day one

Articles of organisation, EIN application, bank account, invoices, website, Google Business Profile. Consistency across those records is what makes the address useful; a half-migrated address is worse than none. For a longer walk-through, see how to get a virtual business address.

Where to get a virtual business address for LLC mail: 4 staffed US addresses

These four were not picked for price — virtual addresses on Wezoo do not carry one. They were picked on the rarest signal in the data. Each is one of the 23 US addresses (1.3% of 1,785) that publishes a staffed reception desk, which means a person is on site during the working day. Four cities, four states, three operators.

1. 575 Fifth — New York, NY

virtual business address for llc - 575 Fifth, New York
575 Fifth by WeWork, New York

What to expect: Midtown Manhattan, two blocks from Grand Central and Bryant Park. A 575 Fifth Avenue address puts your LLC in a ZIP code (10017) that banks, clients and state examiners recognise on sight. The building lists a staffed reception desk, phone booths, a lounge and a coffee bar — so when a courier turns up with a certified envelope, there is a front desk, not a locked lobby. Filing in New York State, or simply want a New York mailing address that survives a Google search? This is the address to start with.

2. 1201 Fannin Street — Houston, TX

1201 Fannin Street by Spaces, Houston

What to expect: Downtown Houston, inside the Central Business District and walkable to the METRORail Green and Purple lines. Texas is one of the most active LLC formation states in the country, and a downtown Houston street address reads very differently on a filing than a suburban mailbox number. The building lists reception, breakout spaces, catering, a restaurant and on-site parking — useful the day you need to meet an accountant in person rather than over video.

3. 95 Third Street — San Francisco, CA

virtual business address for llc - 95 Third Street, San Francisco
95 Third Street by Spaces, San Francisco

What to expect: SoMa, one block from Yerba Buena Gardens and a short walk to Montgomery BART. California LLCs pay for their address twice: once on the Statement of Information, once in the impression it makes on investors. A 94103 street address does both jobs. The listing includes reception, breakout spaces, bike storage, phone booths and step-free access, and it sits inside a building you can actually walk into when a client asks to meet.

4. 500 S Main Street — Burlington, NC

virtual business address for llc - 500 S Main Street, Burlington
500 S Main Street by Regus, Burlington

What to expect: Central Burlington, between Greensboro and Durham on the I-40/85 corridor. Not every LLC wants a marquee metro address — plenty of North Carolina owners want a real street address close to where they actually live, with a human at the desk. This one lists reception, catering, breakout spaces, step-free access and a public parking lot next door. It is the quiet, practical end of the market, and for a single-member LLC that is often exactly right.

Want the building as well as the address — somewhere to sit, a room to meet in, a door with your company’s name at the desk? That is a different product, and we cover it in our guide to virtual office space.

Virtual business address for LLC: frequently asked questions

Is a virtual business address for LLC registration legal?

Yes. Using a commercial street address you are licensed to use is legal in all 50 states, provided you file a notarised USPS Form 1583 so the operator may receive mail on your behalf. What is not legal is using an address you have no agreement to use.

Can I use a virtual business address for LLC bank accounts?

Usually yes. Business banks want a verifiable street address, not a PO box, and a commercial building address passes their verification checks. Expect to show your formation documents, your EIN letter and the agreement with the address provider.

Does a virtual business address for LLC filings work as my registered agent address?

No. A registered agent must accept service of process in person, in your state of formation, during business hours. Only 23 of the 1,785 US addresses on Wezoo publish a staffed reception desk, and even those are not appointed agents. Buy the agent service separately.

Can two LLCs share the same virtual business address?

Yes, and thousands do. Office buildings host many companies by design, which is why the practice is unremarkable to states and banks. It becomes a problem only if the address is a residential unit or a mailbox store dressed up as a suite number.

Which state should my virtual business address for LLC be in?

The state you file in. Delaware, Wyoming and Nevada are popular formation states, but if you actually operate in Texas or California you will likely need to register as a foreign LLC there too — and an address in the state where you do business is the one that keeps your filings consistent.

Choosing a virtual business address for LLC growth

The address on your formation documents is the one field you will copy into fifty other systems and then have to live with. Choose it once, choose it deliberately, and choose a real building with a real front desk. A virtual business address for LLC filings is not a trick or a loophole — it is simply the sensible separation of where you live from where your company is registered.

Wezoo lists 1,785 US virtual office addresses across 791 cities, from Manhattan towers to main-street buildings in Burlington. Pick the one your state, your bank and your customers will all recognise, and get back to running the company.
