In June, during a business trip to London, the Wezoo team faced a common modern-day challenge: we needed a quiet, air-conditioned place to work, but had no fixed location. London was sweltering, and while Wezoo hadn’t yet launched in the city, we decided to try other platforms. Unfortunately, the lengthy sign-up processes proved unworkable.
Out of options, we approached the reception desk at the hotel we were staying in to inquire about meeting rooms. Surprisingly, while they had available space, they typically didn’t rent it out for such use. It struck us as odd—an underutilized asset in a hospitality business that wasn’t being monetized effectively. Intrigued, we began investigating further and spoke with hotels across Europe. The trend was clear: many hotels had meeting rooms, event spaces, and work desks sitting empty, primarily because booking such spaces was cumbersome. Without automation, reservations often involved multiple calls and emails—a hassle for both guests and staff.
CitizenM stood out
In any real estate sector, the ability to monetize space efficiently is essential. Wezoo identified an opportunity to address this tension. By integrating our technology with hotels’ property management systems or booking tools, we could automate the reservation process, eliminating manual inefficiencies. The idea seemed like a no-brainer, but initially, hotels were hesitant. They loved the value proposition but weren’t ready to implement it immediately.
Amid this resistance, one hotel group stood out: CitizenM. With its global presence, advanced technology, and forward-thinking approach, CitizenM recognized the potential of adding workspaces to its portfolio. In today’s remote-friendly working environment, this alignment was critical. Hotels, especially those catering to business travelers, can transform underutilized spaces into revenue-generating assets. CitizenM saw the opportunity and embraced it..
Shared vision, shared future
CitizenM’s enthusiasm matched our own. Florinda Eletto from CitizenM shared her thoughts:
“The partnership with Wezoo is a logical step for organizations that are innovative, smart thinkers, and always put the guest first. By combining our forces, we are certain to reach more clients who will benefit from our smart and forward-thinking products.”
This collaboration envisions a future where workspaces are no longer restricted to offices. Whether it’s a hotel meeting room, a coworking space, or any real estate type, Wezoo empowers users to book spaces instantly. Florinda added:
“Wezoo is an intuitive and user-friendly platform for guests. It’s a smart tool that enables them to book meeting spaces in an instant.”
Wezoo prioritizes simplicity: anyone can visit Wezoo.com, find a space, and book it within minutes—no logins, subscriptions, or memberships required. By lowering barriers to entry, we’ve created a fully inclusive and accessible marketplace.
Goals for the collaboration
When asked about the goals of the collaboration, Florinda highlighted:
“Our primary goals are to increase visibility for our meeting products and broaden our clientele. Good conversion rates, better performance, and exceeding guest expectations are our ultimate objectives.”
Wezoo is poised to achieve this and more. Post-COVID market conditions have redefined how we view workspaces, creating immense potential for innovative solutions. As Gen Z and millennials—digital natives who demand instant access and abundant choices—become the majority of the workforce, the need for seamless, tech-enabled solutions will only grow.
In 2024, real estate remains one of the most challenging assets to procure. At Wezoo, we believe it doesn’t have to be. Together with CitizenM, we’re simplifying the process, helping businesses and individuals access the spaces they need, when they need them, with unparalleled ease.
